Christmas cruise with Hurtigruten!

Hurtigruten is inviting you to celebrate Christmas with them, aboard one of the ships sailing the Norwegian coast. Unlike the rest of the year, the ships will dock for 24 hours on Christmas eve, so that passengers can stroll the Christmas decorated streets of Norwegian towns and communities. Or maybe attend a Christmas service at a Norwegian church.

Enjoy a Christmas cruise in comfort with Hurtigruten. In the days before Christmas, Hurtigruten's guests are participating in traditional Christmas activities, like making decorations, singing Christmas carols and making gingerbread. On Christmas eve itself, all guests gather for a Christmas dinner and unwrapping of Christmas gifts.

According to Norwegian newspaper Nordlys, these ships will be at these ports on Christmas eve:

MS Nordstjernen: Bergen
MS Trollfjord: Kristiansund
MS Kong Harald: Sandnessjøen
MS Lofoten: Svolvær
MS Midnatsol: Hammerfest
MS Vesterålen: Kirkenes
MS Nordkapp: Kjøllefjord
MS Nordnorge: Tromsø
MS Polarlys: Bodø
MS Richard With: Ålesund

Hurtigruten also offers a Christmas voyage in Antarctica.

  1. I was on board the MS Polarlys during Christmas holidays last year. It was great fun. We stayed in Trondheim for Christmas Eve and Christmas day (attending the evening service in the Nidaros cathedral was a rare treat), and then we had an incredible display of fireworks in Svolvaer at midnight on New Year's Eve. I enjoyed everything about this trip!

  2. Wow... Sounds great! Read some days ago that they managed to bring aboard and put up an 8 meter tall Christmas tree on the MS Trollfjord. While in Tromsø, some 90 kids participated in decorating the tree: http://tinyurl.com/cfrnlgu
